Island Links Resort by Palmera

Enjoyed staying here at Hilton Head resort. Nice accomodations. Very roomy for me and my two roommates. We didn't do a lot. Just enjoyed ourselves. I love Hilton Head because it has a senior citizen vacation feel. No amusement activities. Everyone nice and friendly. Good thing about traveling you meet people from so many different states which I love. The weather was nice even though it rain but not all day. We took in a movie... My Big fat Greek wedding.... we mostly ate in. Nice kitchen. Had everything we needed. We spent very little money. We had such a great time eating each other food that we cooked and brought it down the road with us. I recommend this place to stay. It was clean too. Bed slept awesome. We had two separate bedrooms. We each had our own queen size bed.

I would have given it 4 stars if it wasn’t for the service and responses we got from the crew. We ran out of trash bags because we stayed a week and have baby diapers to throw away. I went to the front desk asking for more trash bags and she told me I had to go to Walmart to buy more. On another instance, I told a crew member that the pool was missing about a foot of water and wasn’t circulating. He responded with - “I know, it’s been like that since Saturday. You can’t even see under water it’s murky. That’s the pool company’s job. I can’t do anything about it.” He then told me they were going to close it he thought and I asked why it was open then and he said he didn’t know. This was super pool customer service and also makes me concerned that the water my kids were swimming in wasn’t clean at all. Other than these instances, the room was clean, super spacious and extremely private. I would come back for the location and the rooms but the customer service needs some help. Too bad I couldn’t give them 4/5 stars.

We had no significant problems during our stay. We were in building 1. Our dishwasher was rusted on the inside, so unfortunately I spent my vacation week washing dishes. My only other complaint is housekeeping came into our unit on our check out day, hours before check out time so we were trying to get packed up and organized and someone barged into the unit "assuming" we were already gone I guess. That was a little intrusive I thought. They did not knock, just put in their code and entered without regard. I like the pool and splash pad since we were traveling with a toddler. Being in building 1 put us right across from the pool which was great. I hate that getting to the beach was a ways (but we are just accustomed to being at beach front properties). Wish the shuttle ran later than 5 since there's still plenty of sun at the beach in August after 5pm. Otherwise, the unit was decent and comfortable for our family.

The location was very beautiful and very quiet. The rooms were normal - nothing made the rooms stand out. We had issues with the bathrooms and the ants on the baloney. Additionally, the condominium did not have the proper cleanout/ cleaning before our stay. The manager did her best to compensate for the issues. Therefore, I will give Island Links Resort by Palmera another chance on our next visit
